Jeff Kegarise, OD, ABODr. Kegarise is the President and CEO of many eye care companies, each dedicated to improving the eye health and vision of patients through the delivery of patient centered, doctor focused healthcare businesses. Dr. Kegarise is the President and Chief Operating Officer of The Center for Professional Development, LLC; a management consulting firm that assists doctors in clinical and managerial practices. He earned his Doctor of Optometry at The Ohio State University and followed that with a Residency in Family Practice Optometry at The University of Alabama in Birmingham. His early career was focused on eye disease, leading optometric referral centers with Omega Health Systems in Birmingham, AL and Nashville, TN. During that time his practices were recognized by The State of Tennessee with TN Quality Awards for business. He began his consulting career when he was recognized by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, (IHI), Boston, MA, as one of three international experts and innovators in healthcare design and leadership. He served as one of the founding members of IHI’s Idealized Design in Healthcare Project IDCOP which created a model for ambulatory care medicine to follow in pursuit of “Ideal” care. His teaching and consultations have included lecturing to and helping leaders of large academic centers of ophthalmology, The Mayo clinic, and other healthcare organizations in all branches of primary care and specialty medicine. He consulted with the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) to help improve methods for coordination and transition of care. He maintains faculty status with The Institute for Healthcare Improvement and affiliation with Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH, as adjunct in the Dartmouth Institute Microsystem Academy. Dr. Jeff practices with his wife, Susan, and purchased the primary care practice in 2004. Since that time, they have enjoyed phenomenal growth and satisfaction while expanding the services, care and scope of the business. His practice was awarded the first National Optometric innovator of the Year and Power Practice of the Year. Patient’s votes were responsible for the practice winning the Nashville Sizzle Award eight years in a row. Dr. Jeff has authored chapters in two books on clinical eye disease and transforming medical practices. He has written an entire third book which will be published in January on delivering great service and experience in any healthcare organization.
David K. Talley, O.D., F.A.A.O.
Dr. Talley received his Bachelor’s degree at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and went on to receive his Doctorate degree in Optometry at the University of Alabama School of Optometry. After receiving his Doctorate degree, he completed a residency in primary care with emphasis in ocular disease at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Talley is a member of numerous professional associations and has many publications in the medical management of ocular disease. He has trained Optometric Externs and Residents for 20 years and given over 1000 professional presentations in areas of primary eye care, ocular disease and practice management. Dr. Talley has twice received Optometrist of the Year by the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians (TAOP) and the Commitment Award in the annual Excellence in Tennessee recognition program administered by the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence (TNCPE). He is also listed in Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals. Dr. Talley serves as a board certified (ABO) Optometric Physician and Managing Partner of West Tennessee Eye, a large optometric group practice in Memphis, Tennessee. He is responsible for all company activities related to Education, Compliance, Information Technology, Physician Outreach and Third Party Issues. Dr. Talley has also volunteered a great deal of his time for Optometry. He has served in every elected position of the Tennessee Board of Optometry (TNBO) and the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians (TAOP) to include two terms as their Chairman and President. He has also served in many capacities for the American Optometric Association (AOA) to include the Third-Party Center Executive Committee. |
P. Gregory Forsyth, ODDr. Forsyth attended Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1984. He has been in private group practice in Raleigh, North Carolina since 1989. He has conducted numerous contact lens studies for many manufacturers, lectured nationally and internationally on contact lens fitting, lens design and practice management. He previously served on the Advisory Boards to the Eye Care Center, O.D., P.A., Ocular Sciences, Inc and the Duke Eye Center. Dr. Forsyth currently is a Global Key Opinion Leader to Bausch & Lomb, and serves on the National Advisory Board to Essilor.
Dr. Forsyth is a long time member of the American Optometric Association, the North Carolina State Optometric Society and the Eastern District Optometric Society. Dr. Forsyth is active in sports vision as he is the team optometrist to the North Carolina State University Athletic Department and has served the Carolina Railhawks Men’s Professional Soccer Team, and Carolina Mudcats AA Baseball Team. |
Todd Pfeil, OD
Since 2005, Todd Pfeil, OD has been providing both routine and comprehensive eye health exams at EyeCare Specialties. His expertise is in specialty contact lens fittings, including keratoconus and corneal refractive therapy. A member of both the American Optometric Association and the Nebraska Optometric Association, Dr. Pfeil’s career has taken him all over the world, seeing patients from many different walks of life. Through Shared Vision International and The Haitian Timoun Foundation, he regularly travels to Haiti to provide eye exams and eyewear to those in need. |
